Remote Senior Software Engineer, Search

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer on the Search Experiences team at Reddit will focus on ensuring high uptime and strong performance of systems.
• Responsibilities include building new GraphQL endpoints for external consumers, scaling internal ranking tools, and designing performant architectures.
• The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, selecting high leverage projects, and driving a more scalable architecture.
• The position requires engaging with the search, GraphQL, and ML community, presenting Reddit's accomplishments, and incorporating innovative ideas.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of software development experience in languages like Go, Python, Rust, Java, or Ruby.
• Proficiency in GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift or gRPC, and designing maintainable APIs.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and keep projects on schedule.
• BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, self-directed, innovative, and able to thrive in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration in a remote environment.
