Remote Senior Software Engineer, Search

Description:

• The Senior Backend Engineer on the Search Experiences team at Reddit will focus on ensuring high uptime and strong performance of systems.
• Responsibilities include building new GraphQL endpoints, scaling internal ranking tools, developing internal APIs for ML-driven UIs, and designing a performant and secure architecture.
• The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, selecting high leverage projects, and contributing to Reddit's long-term roadmap.
• The position requires engaging with the search, GraphQL, and ML community, sharing Reddit's achievements, and incorporating innovative ideas from peers.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of software development experience in languages like Go, Python, Rust, Java, or Ruby.
• Proficiency in GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift or gRPC, and designing maintainable APIs.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and keep projects on schedule.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, self-directed, innovative, and comfortable in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration in a remote environment with technical and non-technical teams.
