Description:
The Senior Software Engineer (Service Infrastructure) position at Affirm involves working in the Service Infrastructure team as a DevOps Engineer.
Responsibilities include analyzing and improving internal applications, ensuring high availability of cloud infrastructure, optimizing Kubernetes clusters, managing infrastructure using infrastructure as code best practices, ensuring secure and resilient infrastructure, providing self-service solutions for engineers, writing high-quality code, reviewing code and designs, creating monitoring systems, serving as a technical resource, providing support to other engineering teams, optimizing systems for cost efficiency, and participating in an on-call rotation.
The core skills required for this role include at least 6 years of industry experience with 4+ years in DevOps, coding skills in Python, Golang, or Kotlin, strong knowledge of Kubernetes, experience in public cloud (preferably AWS), designing highly available systems, infrastructure as code experience (preferably Terraform), mentoring other engineers, knowledge of monitoring solutions, and cost management.
Additional skills desired include developing multi-region cloud solutions, experience in cloud networking, database experience, and knowledge of SDLC tooling.
Requirements:
At least 6 years of industry experience, including 4+ years as a DevOps Engineer.
Proven coding skills in Python, Golang, or Kotlin.
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes.
Experience in public cloud, preferably AWS.
Design and development of highly available systems with 99.99%+ SLA.
Experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform.
Mentoring and enabling other engineers.
Extensive knowledge of monitoring solutions like Prometheus and ELK.
Cost management skills.
Additional skills in developing multi-region cloud solutions, cloud networking, databases, and SDLC tooling.
