Description:

Kin is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Systems Engineering team to develop products and features that enhance the scalability of the Engineering team.
The role involves working in Ruby environments with Typescript front-ends and utilizing PostgreSQL, while applying Scrum methodologies in product and software development.
Responsibilities include writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code primarily in Ruby, leading pair programming sessions, mentoring junior engineers, driving design or architectural tasks, participating in daily stand-ups and weekly retrospectives, and collaborating on systemic changes across the Engineering department.
The position offers the opportunity to tackle complex engineering problems and provide subject matter expertise and support.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a proven track record of incrementally shipping large, complex software projects.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Typescript, Terraform, and Go is required.
Experience with architectural design and the ability to articulate the value of technical investments is necessary.
Candidates should be able to operate with some technical guidance and have experience mentoring engineers.
Familiarity with front-end technologies and modern JavaScript libraries or frameworks (React, Vue, Angular) is essential.
A comfortable fit in a fast-paced startup environment is expected, along with being a fast learner ready to apply previous knowledge and continue developing.
Candidates should preferably be located in Central or Eastern US time zones (CDT & EDT).
