Description:

InfluxData is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Telegraf engineering team.
The role involves developing and maintaining the open-source data collection agent, Telegraf, which is installed on millions of machines worldwide.
Responsibilities include developing new plugins and functionalities in Golang, interacting with the open-source community, and maintaining the current code-base, including conducting code reviews.
The position is remote, with a preference for candidates in Canada, the USA, the UK, and Western European time zones.
The application window will remain open until at least January 31, 2025, and may stay online based on business needs.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of professional engineering experience in building and shipping production software.
Self-motivation and a strong drive to complete tasks independently while being integrated with the team are essential.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Golang, Rust, C/C++, or Python is required.
A working knowledge of Git and GitHub, along with related workflows, is necessary.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory.
Experience in programming with Golang, contributing to or maintaining open-source projects, knowledge of industry-standard communication protocols, and experience in monitoring networks and devices are considered a plus.
