The position is for a Senior Software Engineer within the Unified Platform (UP) team, which consolidates data and technologies to enhance decision-making and research.

The development environment emphasizes rapid deployment, automated testing, and cohesive service architectures.
The UP teams are divided into Platform Engineering and Domain Engineering, focusing on cross-cutting capabilities and critical services, respectively.
Expectations include building reliable and scalable systems, working on both legacy and new code, driving projects to completion, and providing on-call support as needed.

Requirements:

Candidates should have multiple years of server-side development experience.
A solid understanding of micro-service architectures and the CAP theorem is required.
Familiarity with functional paradigms and type theory is desirable.
Candidates should possess confident knowledge of JVM and modern programming languages such as Java, Ruby, or Clojure.
Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow is preferred.
Proficiency in domain-driven design and domain modeling is necessary.
Exposure to technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and git is beneficial.
Working knowledge of SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is required.
Knowledge of financial concepts, exchange trading, or physical energy trading is a plus.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $200,000 and $275,000, based on experience and qualifications.
Total compensation may include variable compensation and additional benefits.
