Description:

  • Dealerware is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Vehicle Telematics to join their team in Austin, TX.
  • The ideal candidate will have professional experience in telematics, be proficient in working with cloud platforms, possess in-depth knowledge of telematics frameworks and libraries, and be eager to learn new technologies.
  • Responsibilities include developing and maintaining robust telematics solutions for vehicle health and monitoring systems, collaborating with a cross-functional agile team to deliver new product increments, creating scalable infrastructure on modern cloud platforms, integrating telematics data with the existing fleet management platform, writing tests and documentation, and staying updated on current and emerging telematics technologies.
  • The successful candidate will excel in vehicle telematics systems, have strong communication skills, lead the design and implementation of solutions, deliver projects by leading a team, enjoy a collaborative work environment, and have a passion for learning and sharing knowledge.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional work experience in vehicle telematics and related technologies.
  • Extensive experience in developing high-performing, scalable, and resilient telematics solutions.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience with modern programming languages and frameworks such as Ruby, Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
  • Experience integrating telematics data with web and mobile applications.
  • Solid understanding of core web and browser concepts.
  • Ability to lead key team initiatives from start to finish, manage the development lifecycle, and demonstrate expertise in system design, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Proficiency in using advanced SQL/MySQL queries.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
