Description:
The Senior Software Engineer position is on the Workforce team at Honor, focusing on making Honor the employer of choice for caregivers nationwide.
The team ensures they employ the right Care Professionals, provide them with tools for high-quality care, and offer consistent work matching their preferences.
Engineers work closely with users to build solutions with empathy for a historically marginalized profession.
Responsibilities include building features and architecting systems across monolith and microservices to enhance the Care Pro mobile application, applicant portal, and data science model integrations.
The role involves guiding and executing short- and long-term architecture goals as Honor's Care Platform expands rapidly.
Collaboration with design, product management, data, and care operations is essential.
Requirements include experience in Python or transferable experience in languages like Node.js, designing relational database models, working with legacy code, and building distributed systems and cloud services.
Additional experience with technology startups, RPC architecture, microservice architecture, frontend development, observability tools, and mentoring is beneficial.
Technologies used include Python, Thrift, MySQL, AWS, JavaScript, Looker, GitHub, and DataDog.
Requirements:
Thrive in a diverse, cross-functional team and collaborate with various departments.
Enjoy building clean interfaces and connecting them to backend services.
Have experience in Python or transferable experience in languages like Node.js.
Design relational database models and work with relational databases at scale.
Contribute to the design and implementation of large, complex projects.
Comfortable working with legacy, monolithic code.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience building distributed systems and cloud services like AWS, GCP.
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
