Description:
Weights & Biases is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Workspaces team, which is a remote position based in the US.
The company focuses on building tools for AI developers, particularly in the realm of machine learning (ML) and deep learning models.
The Senior/Staff Software Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager for Workspaces and will be responsible for the technical planning, implementation, and delivery of key features within the Models product.
Responsibilities include building features that allow ML engineers to track, visualize, and analyze data for their experiments.
The engineer will collaborate with a team of 2-4 Software Engineers to tackle complex technical challenges and improve the design of APIs and backend changes.
The role involves translating complex user requirements into technical implementations in collaboration with product and design teams.
The engineer will also identify and refactor areas of technical debt to enhance code maintainability and application performance.
The position requires working cross-functionally to establish engineering patterns and best practices while balancing immediate feature delivery with long-term platform health.
The engineer will utilize agile methodologies to break down work into iterative changes, allowing for fast shipping and early user feedback.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading significant technical initiatives or architectural changes.
Strong proficiency in Python is required.
Proficiency in at least one compiled language such as C++, C, C#, or Go is necessary, with Go experience being a significant bonus.
Experience with GraphQL APIs, query optimization, and data fetching strategies is essential.
Candidates should have experience with React and Typescript.
A demonstrated success in improving the performance and maintainability of complex web applications is required.
Candidates must be comfortable diagnosing pain points and solving difficult bugs across the full stack.
Exceptional communication skills are necessary, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to various audiences.
