Description:

Ground News is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Back-end) to contribute to their mission of providing a better way to stay informed and open-minded.
The role involves hands-on development as a back-end developer, significantly impacting the product used by thousands globally.
The technology stack includes Node JS (Typescript) with Express, MySQL and Postgres databases, ElasticSearch for indexing, Redis for caching, and custom data pipelines for news ingestion.
Responsibilities include rapid ownership and delivery of customer-facing features, end-to-end project involvement, flexible development approaches, and cross-department collaboration.

Requirements:

Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience with TypeScript, including Async/Await syntax.
A minimum of 3 years of experience with NodeJs is required.
At least 3 years of experience with relational databases, preferably MySQL or Postgres, is necessary.
A strong desire to learn and progress as a developer is essential.
Candidates should possess critical thinking skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
A knack for writing efficient and scalable code is required.
Some experience with ElasticSearch, Redis, or similar caching systems is preferred.
