Description:
The Senior Solution Architect will advise, assist, and support software developers, architects, and product and business owners to recommend solutions based on the customer’s requirements and constraints, with a strong focus on utilizing Lightbend products.
The role involves partner enablement, education, and deal support through effective mentoring and product positioning.
The architect will engage with clients in midsize to large organizations to advise on how to integrate elements of the Lightbend stack into their environment.
Collaboration with Sales Representatives and Sales Management is essential to build strategies to drive sales into strategic accounts.
The architect will qualify customer requirements and articulate Lightbend's ability to meet these requirements.
Ensuring successful customer POCs through the management of acceptance criteria and issue resolution is a key responsibility.
The role includes developing and delivering company and product presentations and demonstrations.
The architect will actively participate in the field feedback process to the Product Management team and evangelize Reactive and Event-driven principles and patterns.
Engagement with the Java/Scala/Akka/Streaming communities through attending community events and delivering Lightbend content is expected.
Requirements:
At least 5 years of proven experience with Java or Scala is required, with experience in Akka or developing reactive systems being an advantage.
A working knowledge of Cloud Native Infrastructure, specifically Kubernetes, is required.
Experience in distributed and event-driven systems programming paradigms is necessary, with the ability to articulate the differences in legacy systems to customers.
Proficiency in event-driven applications and architecture, domain-driven design, and common patterns such as Event Sourcing, CQRS, and Saga patterns is required.
A good understanding of modern development practices, including DevOps, containers, container orchestration, and CICD, is essential.
Candidates should be voracious learners, ready to quickly and constantly take on new technologies and techniques.
Certifications in Google Cloud, Azure, or AWS are advantageous.
Lightbend Certified Reactive Architect certification and Lightbend Academy certifications are also advantageous.
All employees must adhere to company policies and complete mandatory training, including annual security awareness training.
Candidates must thrive in competitive situations and have 5+ years of relevant experience.
Strong communication skills are necessary to convey technical solutions and product knowledge to both technical and business users.
An understanding of the Sales Cycle and the responsibilities of the Sales Engineering Team is required.
Strong knowledge of Cloud, SaaS, PaaS, Financial, and Enterprise verticals is essential.
Excellent analytical, written, verbal communication, and documentation skills are required.
The ability to maintain focus and business acumen under stressful sales/business negotiations is necessary.
Solution Architecture/Engineering experience in a consulting or development platform practice is required, with the ability to listen to customer requirements, whiteboard and propose solution architecture, and get hands-on with the technology to design, build, and demonstrate real business value.
