Description:
D-Wave is seeking a Senior Solution Architect specializing in Optimization, to work remotely in the UK.
The role involves building and delivering quantum optimization solutions for customer applications.
Responsibilities include collaborating with delivery leads, applications developers, and other solutions architects within the professional services department.
The architect will review customer business problems, map these to D-Wave’s hybrid solvers and advanced quantum systems, formulate solutions, and build applications that run in production.
Key tasks include building customer applications on the D-Wave quantum computer, ensuring successful project delivery, and communicating capabilities to customers.
The position requires gathering requirements, leading brainstorming sessions, consulting on solutions, and designing quantum hybrid applications.
The architect will maintain relationships with leaders across various groups within D-Wave and share insights with tools and product teams.
The role also involves organizing and presenting technical information effectively and contributing to a positive work environment.
Requirements:
A Master's, PhD, or equivalent in Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field is preferred.
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience with Python, with knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Networkx being a bonus.
Experience working directly with external customers, ideally in a consulting role, to identify requirements and consult on complex business problems is required.
Proficiency in using leading optimization tools such as CPLEX or Gurobi is necessary.
A strong understanding of mathematical modeling and optimization solution techniques is essential.
Experience with version control software like Git and building applications to solve complex business problems is required.
Candidates should possess a collaborative mindset, solid interpersonal skills, and a passion for writing high-quality code.
Experience in providing technical leadership from problem definition to solution design and implementation is important.
A proven record of successful on-time project delivery with high quality is required.
Experience in industries such as Manufacturing, Logistics, Retail, or Services is preferred.
Candidates must be able to pass UK government clearance if needed.
