Description:
The Senior Solution Architect will build and deliver quantum optimization solutions for customer applications while collaborating with delivery leads, applications developers, and other solutions architects within the professional services department.
This role involves working with internal teams and external customers to review business problems, map them to D-Wave’s hybrid solvers and advanced quantum systems, formulate solutions, build and test prototypes, and create applications that run in production for customers.
Responsibilities include building customer applications on the D-Wave quantum computer and internal tools, ensuring successful project delivery to achieve business value, and communicating capabilities with customers to understand their problems and propose solutions.
The architect will gather requirements on customer use cases, lead brainstorming sessions, consult with customers on potential solutions, model use cases mathematically, and design and develop quantum hybrid applications.
Building and maintaining relationships with leaders across various groups within D-Wave is essential, as well as sharing customer and project-related insights with D-Wave's tools and product teams to help prioritize new product features.
The role requires organizing, preparing, and presenting technical information clearly and effectively, and participating in the development of an inclusive, helpful, and fun environment.
Requirements:
A Master's, PhD, or equivalent in Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field is preferred.
Candidates should have 3+ years of experience with Python, with knowledge of Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Networkx being a bonus.
Experience working directly with external customers, ideally in a consulting role, to identify requirements and consult on solutions to complex business problems is required.
Familiarity with leading optimization tools such as CPLEX or Gurobi is necessary.
A practical understanding of solving customer problems, a strong sense of urgency, and an understanding of project delivery requirements are essential.
Strong knowledge of mathematical modeling and optimization solution techniques is required.
Experience with version control software such as Git is necessary.
Candidates should have experience building applications to solve complex business problems for customers.
A collaborative mindset and solid interpersonal skills are essential.
A passion for writing state-of-the-art code is required.
Experience providing technical leadership from business problem definition to solution design and implementation is necessary.
A proven record of successful on-time delivery of projects with a high degree of predictability and quality is required.
Experience within industries such as Manufacturing, Logistics, Retail, or Services is preferred.
