Description:

The Senior Solution Architect - Optimization role at D-Wave involves building and delivering quantum optimization solutions for customer applications.
You will collaborate with delivery leads, applications developers, and other solutions architects within the professional services department.
The position requires reviewing customer business problems, mapping these optimization problems to D-Wave’s hybrid solvers and advanced quantum systems, and formulating solutions.
Responsibilities include building and testing prototypes and developing applications that run in production for customers.
You will ensure successful project delivery to achieve business value for customers and communicate capabilities while understanding customer problems.
The role involves gathering requirements, leading brainstorming sessions, consulting with customers, and designing quantum hybrid applications.
Building and maintaining relationships with leaders across various groups within D-Wave is essential.
You will share insights with D-Wave's tools and product teams to help prioritize new product features.
Organizing and presenting technical information clearly and effectively is part of the job.

Requirements:

A Master's, PhD, or equivalent in Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience with Python is required, with knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Networkx being a bonus.
Bilingual proficiency in German and English (written and verbal) is mandatory.
Experience working directly with external customers, ideally in a consulting role, to identify requirements and consult on complex business problems is necessary.
Familiarity with leading optimization tools such as CPLEX or Gurobi is required.
A strong understanding of mathematical modeling and optimization solution techniques is essential.
Experience with version control software like Git is needed.
Proven experience in building applications to solve complex business problems for customers is required.
A collaborative mindset and solid interpersonal skills are necessary.
A passion for writing state-of-the-art code is expected.
Experience in providing technical leadership from problem definition to solution design and implementation is required.
A proven record of successful on-time project delivery with high predictability and quality is essential.
Experience in industries such as Manufacturing, Logistics, Retail, or Services is preferred.
The ability to pass government clearance if needed is required.
