• The Senior Solutions Architect / Senior Solutions Engineer at GitLab is responsible for being a trusted advisor to prospects and clients, demonstrating how GitLab solutions meet client business requirements.
• They drive and manage the technology evaluation and validation stages of the sales process, advocating for GitLab’s Enterprise Edition.
• This role focuses on providing technical solutions while understanding the business outcomes customers aim to achieve.
• Senior Solutions Architects work with top enterprise customers, collaborating with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing teams.
• They provide technical guidance and support throughout the sales cycle, shaping strategies to build customer trust and broad use of the GitLab platform.
• The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in software/technology sales or consulting, connecting technology solutions to measurable business value, and strategic thinking about business, products, and technical problems.
• Responsibilities include engaging with customers in a technical consultancy role, formulating and executing sales strategies, educating customers on GitLab's value proposition, guiding technical evaluations, building relationships within customer environments, and representing customer requirements to internal teams.
• The role also involves enhancing professional skills, maintaining specialty competency in relevant technologies, solving technical customer issues, contributing to team learning initiatives, and collaborating with various departments to find solutions to complex scenarios.
• Additionally, the Senior Solutions Architect represents GitLab at events, contributes to documentation, shares expertise through various channels, and coaches sales team members.

Requirements:

• Must be based in Japan and a Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Should possess technical presentation and communication skills.
• Experience in technical pre-sales or information technology field.
• Knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle.
• Understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment.
• Experience with modern software development, operations, cloud computing, and related technologies.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• Ability to use GitLab is advantageous.
