Remote Senior SQL Developer

Description:

• Voice Systems Engineering (VSE) is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Developer with database administration capabilities to join their remote team.
• The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL Server environments and will provide technical leadership in database design, optimization, and maintenance.
• Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining high-performing SQL databases and queries, optimizing existing database structures and stored procedures, troubleshooting complex SQL performance issues, and performing light to medium database administration tasks.
• The role also involves refactoring legacy SQL code, implementing database version control practices, collaborating with development teams for optimal database integration, and monitoring and tuning database performance.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have expert-level knowledge of SQL Server 2019 and Azure SQL Database.
• Advanced proficiency with query profiling, optimization, and indexing strategies is required.
• Strong experience in writing and optimizing stored procedures and triggers is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to profile and refactor legacy SQL for performance improvements is necessary.
• Experience with database views, user-defined functions, and complex joins is required.
• Proficiency with Visual Studio 2019 for Integration Services catalogs is needed.
• Experience with Business Objects Enterprise (BOE) 4.3 is a must.
• A deep understanding of database security best practices is required.
• Candidates should have five or more years of professional SQL development experience, experience with light to medium database administration tasks, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures.
• Familiarity with database monitoring tools, experience with database migration and version control, excellent documentation practices, and effective communication skills are also required.

• This position is remote, and the salary range is $120,000 – $130,000 per annum, depending on experience and expertise.
