Description:

We are hiring 2–3 Senior SQL Server Developers to support a critical initiative with a large-scale enterprise technology organization in the financial services space.
This is a hands-on role focused on analyzing and rewriting SQL for performance.
The position is ideal for experienced developers who understand how to write highly efficient SQL and are familiar with the internals of SQL Server, particularly around query optimization, execution plans, and performance bottlenecks.
You will collaborate with a SQL Server performance Subject Matter Expert who spent over a decade at Microsoft, making strong fundamentals and real-world experience key.
Key responsibilities include analyzing and optimizing SQL queries for performance, rewriting complex SQL queries into efficient code, understanding database architecture design, and identifying and fixing inefficient code.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of SQL Server development and administration experience.
A minimum of 5+ years focused on SQL Server performance tuning and internals is required.
Strong experience with SQL Server Optimizer, execution plans, indexing strategies, and diagnosing latching/blocking issues is essential.
Proven ability to work in high-parallel query execution environments is necessary.
Knowledge of the SQL SOS (operating systems), thread scheduler, and how the statistics-based optimizer works is required.
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to collaborate with technical leads are essential.
