Description:
- The Senior SRE Engineer at Viator will be responsible for designing and implementing parts of the engineering platform to enable scaling, metrics, and observability, ensuring and improving reliability.
- They will identify gaps in the engineering platform to enhance availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, and emergency response.
- The role involves guiding and mentoring team members, evangelizing DevOps and SRE culture, and leading innovation across engineering feature teams.
- The engineer will participate in a PagerDuty-based on-call rotation.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in coding with Python and Java, with experience in writing commercial application code in Java.
- Deep knowledge of Computer Engineering fundamentals and first principles.
- Experience in incident management and scaling solutions on both infrastructure and architectural levels.
- Familiarity with monitoring microservice architectures in large distributed cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Ability to mentor team members, improve collaboration, and communicate effectively.
- Experience with version control, CI/CD, SQL/NoSQL data stores, and Agile methodologies.
