Description:

The position is for a Senior/Staff Full Stack Software Engineer at Polly, a remote SaaS company in the USA.
The candidate should have over 6 years of software development experience and be eager to work with emerging technologies in a collaborative engineering team.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining mission-critical services using Python, Django, JavaScript, Vue.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
The engineer will take ownership of technical solutions from planning to production deployment and diagnose and resolve technical problems.
They will build unit tests and automation to ensure the quality of features and create maintainable code through documentation, clean architecture, and comprehensive testing.
The role involves shaping the architecture by contributing to key design decisions and actively participating in interviewing and evaluating new team members.
The engineer will guide engineering practices, establish standards for code quality, support junior team members through mentorship, and review code to drive technical excellence.
Maintaining knowledge of advances and trends in programming and technology is also expected.

Requirements:

A proven track record of success in large enterprise SaaS software, distributed systems, scalability, and continuous development is required.
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 6-9 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 4-7 years of experience.
A senior-level skill set in core programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or C/C++ is necessary.
Strong expertise in modern frontend technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, and frameworks like React or Vue, is essential for building scalable and user-friendly applications.
Experience with distributed systems, inter-service communication protocols, and APIs (e.g., REST, NSQ) is required.
Candidates should have experience developing transactional systems, focusing on concurrency, race conditions, and data consistency.
Proficiency in working with relational databases and SQL is also necessary.
