The Senior Staff Software Engineer will lead the development of a new application on a scalable, high-performance Java platform.
This role is suited for an expert Java engineer with knowledge of concurrent programming and experience in building real-time, high-volume systems.
Responsibilities include building or re-architecting backend services using Java and embedded Jetty for ultra-low-latency performance.
The engineer will ensure multi-threaded, high-concurrency applications can scale for massive data ingestion and processing.
The role involves leading code reviews, mentoring engineers, and influencing technical roadmap and architectural decisions.
Collaboration with product and platform teams is essential to deliver resilient, secure, and observable services and applications.
The engineer will integrate open source and open standards to reduce internal code generation and leverage the open-source community.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 10+ years of professional experience in Java backend development.
Proven expertise in multithreaded programming is required.
Deep experience with Jetty or similar embedded web servers (e.g., Undertow, Netty) is necessary.
A strong understanding of systems design, high-throughput messaging, and I/O performance tuning is essential.
Proven experience in high-performance, throughput systems is required.
A solid grasp of JVM internals, memory management, and profiling tools is necessary.
Nice to have skills include knowledge of SNMP, NetFlow, API Frameworks, OpenTelemetry, Network Monitoring, and data experience with Clickhouse and MongoDB.
