Description:
The Senior Staff Software Engineer at Mozilla is responsible for leading projects that require implementation with multiple teams, providing technical leadership, building cross-team relationships, and helping teams deliver on their objectives.
They guide in their domain, provide observation and evaluation on strategy and goals affecting numerous teams, and turn strategy into coordinated action for those teams.
This role involves mentoring junior engineers, collaborating with leadership to establish team consensus, and providing direction.
The engineer will be part of the Mozilla Ads product team, focusing on privacy-respecting and values-aligned display advertising in Mozilla products.
Responsibilities include crafting, building, and being responsible for core systems supporting advertising in clients like Firefox, MDN, Pocket, and Fakespot.
The engineer will work with front-end teams to support and extend existing systems, collaborate with the CTO office on developing privacy-preserving ad technology, and write engineering proposals for major projects.
They will also collaborate with management on building consensus across the organization and providing guidance.
Requirements:
10+ years of overall software engineering experience.
Ability to effectively lead and ship sophisticated software projects.
Influence roadmaps and execution in the teams partnered with.
Expertise in working on sophisticated full-stack systems at scale.
Proficiency in either Golang, Rust, or Java for back-end technologies.
Proficiency in either Javascript, React, or Node.js for front-end technologies.
Ability to take initiative in a loosely structured environment and navigate the team to success.
