Remote Senior Staff Software Engineer, AI Data Infrastructure

Description:

• Stack is developing revolutionary AI and advanced autonomous systems to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency in modern operations.
• The AI Data Infra team is responsible for storage, access, and curation of data across the company and all ML use cases.
• The role involves designing the architecture and leading a team to build a robust data platform for next-gen AI Autonomous Vehicle applications.
• The candidate will oversee architectural design, tech leadership, data management, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and performance optimization.
• The position requires staying updated with the latest technologies and trends in data engineering and promoting engineering excellence within the team.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• The candidate must have 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
• Proficiency in data architecture and design is essential.
• Extensive experience with data lake and data warehouse technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, AWS S3, Redshift, Iceberg, Hive, and Trino is required.
• Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies like Kafka and Flink is necessary.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala are required.
• Experience with ETL tools and processes is essential.
• Knowledge of machine learning and AI technologies and their data requirements is necessary.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies is required.
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical publications are preferred.
• The candidate must demonstrate proven ability to lead and mentor a team, manage projects, and drive technical initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
