Remote Senior Staff Software Engineer, Backend

Description:

• The Senior Staff Software Engineer will identify and solve complex, high-impact problems, leading projects with multiple cross-functional stakeholders to deliver significant impact to the business.
• They will set technical direction impacting the entire engineering team, from critical systems and core product abstractions to developer productivity, while maintaining a high bar for quality across engineering.
• Responsibilities include designing, developing, and owning new product functionality and infrastructure using modern frameworks and tooling like TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• The role involves working on deeply ambiguous problem areas and tackling larger, more long-term challenges for the company.
• The Senior Staff Software Engineer will act as a cultural beacon, setting an example for effective, collaborative engineering.

Requirements:

• Significant technical leadership experience for larger organizations and complex projects is required.
• The successful candidate should demonstrate a good balance of customer focus, bias for action, and the ability to make decisions for the long term, medium term, and short term.
• Experience in communicating and working closely with a large set of cross-functional stakeholders is necessary.
• Previous experience in mentoring and leading teams of engineers is essential.
• A self-starter with a mix of startup and scale experience, prioritizing a bias for action, is preferred.
• Experience in building architectural changes with a multi-year impact or deep expertise in technology is desired.
• An interest in learning about security or prior experience in the security space is a plus.
