Reality Defender is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across development teams.
The role involves tackling complex software engineering challenges and implementing effective technical solutions.
Responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, scalable, and reusable code with a focus on performance and reliability.
The engineer will champion unit testing and code quality, ensuring high-standard, bug-free releases.
The position requires influencing system architecture, database design, and API development with a strategic mindset.
The engineer will partner with Product Managers to define, scope, and prioritize new features and functionality.
Collaboration with senior leadership is essential to align on strategic initiatives and address critical business challenges with technology solutions.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a proven track record of building and operating production systems at scale.
A minimum of 2+ years of experience leading engineering initiatives, driving technical direction, and mentoring team members is required.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience is necessary.
Applicants should demonstrate the ability to solve complex technical and business problems across diverse software architectures.
Proven success in both independent and collaborative work on mission-critical initiatives in fast-paced environments is essential.
Experience in rapidly growing engineering teams is a strong plus.
Deep expertise in designing, building, and operating high-scale, high-availability systems is required.
