Description:
Skyward is seeking a Senior System Architect to join their team, supporting the Small Business Administration (SBA) in automating processes and deploying applications to the cloud.
The role involves developing and documenting systems administration standard operating procedures.
The architect will help define and maintain baseline system security according to organizational policies.
Daily activities include supervising and managing the configuration and operation of systems, which may include Windows, RHEL, or cloud-based environments.
Responsibilities also include managing system and server resources, monitoring and managing systems operating through VMware products, and performing repairs on faulty hardware.
The position requires troubleshooting hardware/software interface issues, optimizing system operations, and conducting system capacity analysis and planning.
The architect will use stakeholder feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology.
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 12 years of experience as a systems architect or systems analyst.
Proficiency in managing systems built on Linux operating systems, including backups, disaster recovery, and system security, is essential.
Experience supporting Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments is required.
Candidates should have experience with Windows Server Administration, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
Installing and managing servers through VMware products, including vSphere and vCenter, is necessary.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell is required.
Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management is essential.
Candidates should have experience building and maintaining virtual and physical server farms.
Familiarity with the ITIL Framework and ITSM tool sets is required.
Proven ability to drive transformational change and exceptional analytical skills are necessary.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data concepts understandably, are required.
A keen understanding of industry trends and challenges is essential.
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude are necessary traits.
