Description:

  • CloudLinux is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer/SRE to join their Infrastructure team, which is responsible for managing the company's internal systems and services.
  • The role involves server lifecycle management, including deploying and maintaining production systems across various platforms such as bare-metal servers, private clouds, and public cloud services.
  • The engineer will utilize Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform to manage infrastructure in a scalable and repeatable manner.
  • Responsibilities include managing DNS records and domains, configuring firewalls, ensuring regular OS updates, and supporting internal security initiatives.
  • The position requires proactive monitoring of systems and resolving incidents to maintain uptime and performance.
  • The engineer will build and integrate internal services based on development team requirements and design CI/CD automation using GitLab pipelines.
  • Documentation of infrastructure, services, and procedures is a key part of the role.
  • The engineer will also develop and support the company’s project infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have strong knowledge of Linux systems, preferably RHEL, CentOS, or AlmaLinux.
  • A solid understanding of network fundamentals is required.
  • Proven experience with Ansible and other configuration management tools is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform or Terragrunt is necessary.
  • Candidates should have cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Familiarity with on-premise data centers, bare-metal servers, CEPH, and Junipers is expected.
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud management platforms such as VMware, OpenNebula, oVirt, or OpenStack is required.
  • Candidates should have experience with FreeIPA for identity and access management and with Foreman for provisioning and lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines is necessary.
  • Good scripting skills in Bash and/or Python are required.
  • A B2 level of English proficiency (both written and spoken) and excellent documentation skills are essential.
  • The ability to learn independently and troubleshoot complex problems is a must.
