InfluxData is seeking a Senior Technical Lead for their global engineering team, combining the roles of Chief Architect and Engineering Manager.
The position is remote and based in Europe, focusing on providing technical and managerial leadership to the engineering team.
The Senior Technical Lead will drive architectural decisions, ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
This role involves acting as a tie-breaker in technical disagreements and collaborating with the VP of Engineering to create and implement technical roadmaps.
The individual will champion engineering excellence by establishing best practices, design principles, and coding standards across teams.
Managerial responsibilities include overseeing engineering teams in Europe, ensuring team engagement and productivity, and potentially having direct reports in the future.
The role requires cross-functional collaboration, acting as a bridge between US and Europe-based teams, and ensuring smooth communication across time zones.
The Senior Technical Lead will work with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements.

Requirements:

Candidates must have proven experience in a senior technical leadership role, such as Chief Architect, Principal Engineer, or Engineering Manager.
A strong understanding of architecture design, systems design, and large-scale application development is required.
The ability to make high-stakes technical decisions in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Excellent communication skills are necessary to influence and drive consensus across teams.
Experience in managing and leading engineers is required.
Solid project management skills with experience in balancing technical priorities and business needs are needed.
Candidates should be comfortable working across multiple time zones and facilitating collaboration between global teams.
