Description:
Calendly is seeking a Senior UI/UX Engineer to join their Engineering team, focusing on Design Systems and component-driven applications using Typescript, JavaScript, React, Redux, and Redux Toolkit (RTK).
The role involves building and maintaining reusable UI components and libraries to enhance developer productivity and ensure a consistent user experience across multiple products.
The engineer will collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to create intuitive, performant, scalable, and reusable components for web, mobile, and extensions.
Daily responsibilities include participating in scrum ceremonies and team meetings, refining Design System and Component Libraries, updating or creating new UI components, and creating documentation for effective component usage.
The engineer will also guide junior team members, ensure code quality through reviews and mentorship, and work on automated tests for UI to identify bugs and usability issues.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of professional experience in frontend/UI development with a strong focus on React and component-based architectures.
Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles is required.
Familiarity with UX/UI test frameworks such as Jest, Selenium, Cypress, TestCafe, Playwright, Puppeteer, and Chromatic is necessary.
Proven ability to create reusable UI/UX components that are scalable, performant, and easy to integrate across multiple projects is essential.
Familiarity with UI/UX design tools like Figma and Storybook, along with experience working closely with design teams, is required.
A solid understanding of design systems and the ability to implement them as reusable code components is necessary.
Experience working with RESTful APIs and asynchronous data handling in a React application is required.
Knowledge of best practices in cross-browser compatibility and web accessibility (WCAG) is essential.
Experience with extracting, refactoring, and modernizing legacy codebases is necessary.
Candidates must be available for participation in on-call rotation for business-critical alerts outside of regular working hours.

The expected annual base salary for this role varies by location, with Tier 1 salaries ranging from $178,500 to $241,500, Tier 2 from $163,625 to $221,375, and Tier 3 from $148,750 to $201,250.
