Description:
Common App is a national not-for-profit organization focused on improving access, equity, and integrity in the college admission process.
The organization is seeking a Senior UX Architect to join their mission-driven team.
The Senior UX Architect will report to the Senior Director of User Experience and will be part of a talented UX team.
This role involves creating seamless workflows and intuitive information architectures for Common App products using human-centered design and design-thinking methodologies.
The architect will collaborate with designers, researchers, product managers, and other stakeholders to design user-friendly systems that meet user and business needs.
The position requires improving and optimizing workflows based on data and research insights to enhance user experiences.
Requirements:
Candidates must reside in the United States.
A Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Architecture, or a related field is required.
A minimum of 4-6 years of professional experience in UX architecture, information design, or a similar role is necessary, along with a portfolio showcasing effective workflow development and information architecture projects.
Proficiency in human-centered design methodology and experience in organizing and documenting complex information is essential.
Candidates must demonstrate expertise in designing efficient, logical, and user-centered workflows.
Exceptional communication, active listening, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills are required.
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, FigJam, and Lucid Chart is necessary for creating workflows and flow diagrams.
Candidates should be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines without compromising quality.
A strong attention to detail and aesthetic skills are important.
Knowledge of accessibility best practices, including Section 508 guidelines and WCAG specifications, is required.
Candidates must be able to prioritize actual user needs over personal opinions and biases.
The ability to remain calm and exercise good judgment under pressure is essential.
Candidates should be effective both as individual contributors and as part of a diverse, virtual team.
Experience in higher education or with student-related digital products is preferred.
Familiarity with AI tools for streamlining information architecture and workflow planning is a plus.
A passion for higher education is considered an advantage.
