Description:

Varo is a digital, mission-driven bank designed to empower customers in managing their finances.
The company is seeking an experienced Senior UX Researcher for a 5-month contract from December to April 2025.
The role involves leading the UX research program while the current researcher is on leave.
The Senior UX Researcher will be the sole UXR team member and will work on critical projects to inform the company's strategy and product roadmap.
Responsibilities include getting up to speed on UXR at Varo, owning the research process from planning to execution, and running mixed-methods research to understand customer needs and behaviors.
The researcher will conduct evaluative research to investigate ideas and assumptions, create research plans, and collaborate with Design, Product, and Marketing teams to prioritize research opportunities.
The role also involves advocating for research, presenting findings through reports and presentations, and providing support to other teams interested in conducting research.
The researcher will identify opportunities to optimize research operations at Varo.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 4+ years of experience as a UX Researcher leader with expertise in both generative and evaluative research.
A proven ability to drive a research agenda with minimal supervision is required.
Applicants should have a track record of delivering customer and business impact through their research.
Strong knowledge and experience with various research methodologies is essential.
Professional experience and passion for consumer finance are necessary.
Candidates must be able to manage cross-functional stakeholders while balancing research rigor with business needs and constraints.
