Veeva Systems is seeking a Senior Web Developer to join the IT Commercial Systems team in Mumbai, India, with a remote work option.
The role involves being the primary backend developer responsible for the Veeva website and other marketing-supported websites.
The developer will be an expert in PHP and WordPress, working alongside front-end developers to build functional features and integrations.
Responsibilities include developing custom site features, creating enterprise-level WordPress plugins and themes, building integrations via APIs, and ensuring site architecture and performance.
The developer will apply security best practices, debug across various browsers and devices, and implement coding best practices.
The role emphasizes documentation, knowledge sharing, and crafting high-quality, maintainable code.
Monitoring the performance of the live website is also a key responsibility.

Requirements:

Candidates must have advanced PHP expertise and prior professional experience using it.
Experience in WordPress engineering, including PHP, React.js, and Gutenberg block development, is required.
Skills in debugging performance and caching issues across various environments are necessary.
Experience in designing scalable and maintainable site architectures is essential.
Candidates should be comfortable using a Unix command line and have experience building localized websites.
Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-developers are required.
