The position is for a Senior Web Developer based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, and is a full-time role for experienced candidates.
The goal of the position is to execute high-quality custom web development projects within given time frames while demonstrating fluency in English.
Daily responsibilities include developing build-outs for 5–7-page websites within 72-80 hours, creating landing pages/funnels within 36-48 hours, and delivering updates and changes in tickets on time.
Daily reporting of updates through the ticketing system is required, along with attending morning meetings punctually.
The role requires being a team player, maintaining a positive attitude, and providing constructive criticism with potential solutions.
Monthly tasks include creating at least one custom development training and having a check-in call with the Project Manager.
Quarterly responsibilities involve taking at least one internal training course and attending all quarterly meetings on time.
Performance evaluations are conducted per semester, with an expectation to improve areas discussed in evaluations and engage in personal development activities.
The position faces challenges such as meeting deadlines and being open to constructive feedback.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience in Web Development.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Web Design, or Web Development is preferred but not essential.
Advanced skills in WordPress, HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript are required, along with intermediate knowledge of MySQL.
Desirable skills include experience with Shopify and WooCommerce.
Fluency in English is mandatory, with a reference level of CEFR C1, IELTS 7-8, or TOEFL iBT 94-114.
Candidates must have a stable broadband internet connection with at least 20 Mbps upload and download speeds, a high-quality noise-canceling headset, and an HD web camera.
The position requires strong soft skills such as teamwork, flexibility, honesty, customer service, communication, time management, problem-solving, creativity, and handling criticism.
