Description:
The Sr. Web Developer/Designer will lead the architecture and development of REE Medical’s web properties, collaborating closely with the Marketing team and company leadership.
This role is responsible for building and maintaining company sites, optimizing landing pages for conversions, and ensuring the site performs well across multiple platforms while adhering to best practices and accessibility standards.
The candidate will own and manage the architecture and development strategy for all web properties in collaboration with Marketing and leadership teams.
Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining website analytics, providing insights into performance and areas for improvement.
The role involves maintaining the WordPress environment, including themes and plugins, ensuring regular updates and backups to keep the site secure and operational.
The candidate will adhere to high code quality and community standards for accessibility, CSS, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and semantic HTML5, optimizing website code to meet performance standards.
The role requires using debugging tools such as Chrome Web Inspector to address website bugs, theme issues, plugin problems, and hosting environment concerns.
The candidate will serve as the expert in user experiences (UX) and user interfaces (UI) for web applications, optimizing site architecture and page content for a seamless user experience.
Conducting thorough testing to ensure consistent user experience across various platforms and devices is essential.
The candidate will ensure website code and content adhere to ADA compliance guidelines.
Collaboration with stakeholders across REE to create innovative website designs that align with company Brand Standards is required.
The role includes partnering with Compliance to ensure assets are aligned with regulations or additional compliance requirements.
The candidate will collaborate with team members and leaders to confirm consistent messaging across web platforms and establish overall successful cohesion of all marketing inputs showcased through web design.
The candidate will be the key contact with external service providers for back-end development and data-related support.
Success in this role is measured by consistent optimization of web properties, positive feedback on site functionality, timely resolution of technical issues, measurable improvements in SEO and web performance metrics, and ADA compliance across all web properties.
Requirements:
The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in web development and design, with a strong focus on WordPress and other web design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
A strong preference for experience translating into a Portfolio showcasing web design expertise, optimization, and strategic direction is required.
Expertise in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and WordPress theme/plugin management is necessary.
Proven experience in optimizing websites for performance, including Google PageSpeed Insights and Core Web Vitals, is required.
Experience with backend database management is essential.
Strong troubleshooting skills with experience using debugging tools, such as Chrome Web Inspector, are necessary.
Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Sketch, Figma, or similar is required.
Familiarity with ADA compliance and web accessibility best practices is necessary.
Familiarity with Medical Industry Web Development and Veteran-focused Organizations is a plus.
Experience working in a highly regulated industry is a plus.
Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving abilities are required, with the capability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate must have the ability to think strategically while maintaining a detail-oriented, self-motivated, and well-organized mindset.
Exceptional attention to detail and effective interpersonal and communication skills for cross-department collaboration are necessary.
The candidate should be highly organized, have multi-tasking skills, and be efficient in ambiguous situations.

Experience in start-up or early-stage environments with little or no defined infrastructure or processes is preferred.
A track record of working in a fast-paced, fluid environment is necessary.

An analytical and problem-solving orientation is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Communications, Marketing, or other relevant fields is required; an additional 2+ years of experience can be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
