Description:

• As a Senior WordPress Developer, you will collaborate with the design team to develop and maintain WordPress websites and applications that align with client business objectives while optimizing for high speed and SEO performance.
• You will develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch, ensuring responsiveness and optimal performance across various devices and browsers.
• The role involves customizing and extending existing WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific project requirements.
• You will collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers to translate design mockups and project requirements into functional WordPress websites and applications.
• Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices is part of your responsibilities.
• You will perform upgrades for WordPress, plugins, themes, and PHP.
• Optimizing WordPress sites for high speed and performance by implementing techniques such as caching, lazy loading, image optimization, and minimizing HTTP requests is essential.
• Implementing SEO best practices to improve site visibility and ranking, including optimizing site structure, meta tags, heading tags, and schema markup, is required.
• You will utilize tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, and Lighthouse to analyze and improve site performance, aiming for high scores and fast loading times.
• Troubleshooting and debugging issues that arise during the development and testing phases, implementing effective solutions in a timely manner, is also part of the role.

Requirements:

• Advanced/fluent English skills are mandatory, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• You must be comfortable working 9-5 EST, with flexibility to complete work as needed, but core hours are in the Eastern Timezone.
• Proven experience as a WordPress Developer or WordPress Engineer is required, with a strong portfolio showcasing your WordPress projects.
• Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and MySQL, along with a solid understanding of web development principles and best practices, is necessary.
• Extensive experience with WordPress theme and plugin development, including custom theme and plugin creation from scratch, is essential.
• A strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques and SEO best practices is required.
• Experience optimizing WordPress sites for high speed and performance, including achieving high scores on Google PageSpeed Insights and other performance testing tools, is necessary.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks/libraries such as React.js, Vue.js, or AngularJS is a plus.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is nice to have.
