Description:
Veeva Systems is seeking a Senior/Principal Data Scientist specializing in NLP to work remotely from Spain, Portugal, or the UK.
The role involves developing LLM-based agents for searching and extracting information about Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the healthcare sector.
Responsibilities include crafting an end-to-end human-in-the-loop pipeline for processing unstructured medical documents and performing semantic searches.
The position requires collaboration with software developers and DevOps engineers to refine and deploy models into production environments.
The company emphasizes the use of the latest technologies and trends in NLP, including Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) methods.
The role also involves creating robust semantic search functionalities and utilizing various statistical techniques for information extraction.
Candidates must be residents of Spain, Portugal, or the UK and legally authorized to work in these countries.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 4+ years of experience as a data scientist or 2+ years with a Ph.D. degree.
A Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, or a related field is required.
Strong theoretical knowledge of Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning techniques is essential.
Proven experience with large language models and transformer architectures, such as GPT or BERT, is necessary.
Familiarity with large-scale data processing and analysis, preferably in the medical domain, is required.
Proficiency in Python and relevant NLP libraries (e.g., NLTK, SpaCy, Hugging Face Transformers) is mandatory.
Experience with BigData frameworks (e.g., Ray, Spark) and Deep Learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX) is needed.
Candidates must have experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential, along with an agile mindset and experience in start-up environments.
