Description:

  • The role is for an experienced Backend Engineer to join the Apps & Integrations team.
  • The engineer will work hands-on with the backend codebase and desktop sync engine, which operates on thousands of client machines.
  • Responsibilities include building features, reviewing code, writing tests, maintaining infrastructure, and defining a long-term architectural vision.
  • The technology stack includes TypeScript, React for the web app, Electron for the desktop app, and Node for the backend, with AWS as the cloud provider.
  • Key tasks involve driving the architectural design of a public API, implementing data storage strategies, designing for high availability, collaborating with stakeholders, identifying bottlenecks, mentoring junior team members, and fostering involvement across product areas.
  • Candidates must include the code AIR-ENG-2025 in their application.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 8+ years of backend experience with large-scale distributed web applications.
  • A strong understanding of API design with a focus on security and scalability is required.
  • Experience with stateful and event-driven client-side applications is necessary.
  • Candidates should have contextual insight into shifting QA and Security to the left.
  • Comfort with event-driven and service-oriented architectures is essential.
  • Experience in driving complex architectural transformations from start to finish is required.
  • A deep understanding of cloud-based services such as AWS, GCP, and Azure is necessary.
  • Candidates should have experience leading projects while balancing business and technical constraints.
