Description:

As a Senior or Staff Backend Engineer (m/f/d), you will focus on backend strategy and design, driving near real-time processing and proposing key architectural changes.
You will be responsible for developing features, APIs, and optimizing databases.
The role involves tackling infrastructure challenges across cloud and edge environments to enhance performance.
You will lead the development of new features, ensuring smooth integration with customer applications and services.
You will oversee the deployment of solutions in both cloud and edge environments, providing the blueprint for hardware setup, debugging, and ensuring the system functions effectively.
You will ensure data quality and maintain operational pipelines, responding to issues related to data consistency and extraction in collaboration with other teams.
You will draft and implement the backend strategy, focusing on real-time processing and optimizing architectural design, databases, and interfaces.
You will take ownership of database consistency and quality, perform first-step analysis on customer data issues, and delegate problems to relevant team members as needed.

Requirements:

You must have 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer building web applications from scratch.
You should have experience developing Python-based backend applications, specifically with Django.
Experience with orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible is required.
You must have experience designing, implementing, and interacting with REST APIs.
Proficiency with SQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQLite, is necessary.
Experience with relational and analytical/time series databases, such as Postgres, AWS Redshift, and Clickhouse, is required.
You should have experience in a cloud-based application environment, preferably AWS.
Fluency in English is required; German is not necessary.
