Description:
Prepared is seeking a Senior/Staff Backend Software Engineer to join their remote team in the United States.
The company focuses on revolutionizing emergency response technology using Artificial Intelligence to enhance the capabilities of 911 dispatch centers and first responders.
The role involves tackling engineering challenges in audio/video processing and generative AI, bringing new features and products from inception to scale.
Engineers will collaborate cross-functionally to architect and launch new user-facing features and products.
Responsibilities include designing initiatives to improve the availability and reliability of backend systems, enhancing engineering processes, and mentoring less experienced engineers.
The position offers a high degree of autonomy and ownership within a small, growing engineering team.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of software engineering industry experience.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Proficiency in or eagerness to learn the backend stack, specifically Ruby on Rails and Golang, is necessary.
Experience with large-scale distributed systems is essential.
A desire to work in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment is important.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
