Description:

  • Kick is an applied AI company focused on creating a self-driving bookkeeping experience by combining machine learning and tax code to automate business finances for entrepreneurs.
  • The company has received funding of $7.5M from OpenAI, General Catalyst, and over 50 investors including Stripe, Notion, and Figma.
  • The ideal candidate for this Senior/Staff Full Stack Engineer position should be passionate about building intuitive, scalable, and performant software, with experience in developing financial or accounting systems.
  • Responsibilities include working with Design, Product, AI, and Engineering teams to implement complex financial features, developing both frontend and backend functionality, and researching new technologies to enhance system performance.
  • The desired candidate should have 3-10+ years of software engineering experience, led the development of financial features, worked on products with excellent UI & UX, possess a strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns, and have good communication skills.

Requirements:

  • 3-10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience in leading the development of complex financial or accounting features.
  • Proficiency in products with great UI & UX and understanding the difference between great and mediocre design.
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bonus: Experience in building a startup or working as a founding engineer.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with modern infrastructure like AWS, Kubernetes, GCP, Terraform, etc.
