Description:
Air is a Creative Ops System for creative teams that automates tasks for managing content and enhances creativity through image recognition, automated versioning, and approval workflows.

The role is for an experienced Fullstack Engineer to join a team of modern JavaScript engineers.
The engineer will work closely with the CTO and senior engineering team to execute the technical roadmap.
Responsibilities include working hands-on with backend, frontend, and desktop codebases, primarily using Typescript.
The web app is built in React, the desktop app in Electron, and the backend in Node, with AWS as the infrastructure.
The engineer will ship features and improvements to 25% of Airβs users who interact with the product daily.
Duties include building features, reviewing code, writing tests, maintaining infrastructure, and defining a long-term architectural vision.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, unstructured environments and is excited about mentoring junior team members.
Candidates must include the code AIR-ENG-2025 in their application.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of backend experience working on large-scale distributed web applications.
Experience collaborating with designers, developers, and product managers is required.
Candidates should have experience managing and maintaining production infrastructure.
They must be capable of working on stateful and event-driven client-side applications.
Familiarity with API design and an API-first mindset is necessary.
Comfort with event-driven and service-oriented architectures is expected.
Experience driving complex architectural transformations from start to finish is required.
A deep understanding of cloud-based services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is essential.
Candidates should have experience leading projects while balancing business and technical constraints.
A demonstrated ability to influence engineering direction through technical proposals and documentation is required.
A strong background in some or all of the following technologies is necessary: Typescript, React, Redux, HTML/CSS, Next.js, Vercel, Cypress, React Query, Node.js, AWS, Git, Github, CircleCI, Webpack, and Elasticsearch.

The compensation range for this role is USD $146,000 to $264,000 if based in the US, and CAD $160,000 to $292,000 if based in Canada.
