Remote Senior/Staff Platform Engineer

Description:

• Join a small, growing engineering organization at Prepared, a company revolutionizing emergency response technology with Artificial Intelligence.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure to support Prepared's platform.
• Architect core systems like authentication, authorization, feature flags, and asynchronous messaging.
• Develop best practices for software development, deployment, and monitoring.
• Automate tasks to enhance engineering team efficiency and reliability.
• Help implement and define SLOs and report on customer SLAs.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the long-term platform strategy.
• Mentor junior engineers and shape Prepared's engineering culture.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software engineering industry experience.
• Capacity to operate in a platform engineering, SRE, or similar role.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Github Actions, Drone CI, or Gitlab CI.
• Proficiency in or willingness to learn backend stack (RoR, Go).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like OpenTelemetry, Datadog, and the LGTM stack.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for documentation.
