The role involves leading the development of data platform emulators, including support for AWS Athena, AWS RDS/Redshift, AWS Glue, and a Snowflake emulator.
Responsibilities include driving the development of the Snowflake emulator, reverse-engineering data platform APIs, writing comprehensive tests, conducting technical evaluations, integrating open-source tools, maintaining documentation, conducting performance evaluations, and communicating with customers to understand their needs.

Requirements:

Candidates must have strong hands-on experience with modern Python development, including type hinting and unit/integration testing with pytest.
A solid background in data processing, operating systems, and systems programming in Unix environments is required.
A strong understanding of SQL and its various types of queries is essential.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of sessions and transactions in relational databases and transaction isolation levels.
Proficiency with PostgreSQL, including running and configuring servers and writing custom functions, is necessary.
Experience with cloud computing APIs and platforms like AWS or Azure is required.
Ideally, candidates should have hands-on experience with data platforms like Snowflake and/or AWS Athena, Glue, Redshift.
Experience with SQL parsing and query AST modification libraries is preferred.
Knowledge of Java and open-source big data platforms, as well as prior experience contributing to open-source projects, is a plus.
Experience with compiler technologies and lexers/parsers is also a plus.
