Description:

  • The Sensor Integration Engineer (Data Fusion Specialist) will lead the design, integration, and calibration of sensors for robotics, autonomous systems, and industrial automation.
  • This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to select, configure, and integrate sensors into complex systems.
  • The engineer will evaluate and choose appropriate sensors, including LIDAR, cameras, IMUs, GPS, and proximity sensors, based on project requirements.
  • Responsibilities include developing and implementing sensor fusion algorithms to enable accurate perception and real-time decision-making.
  • The engineer will perform calibration and validation tests on sensors to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
  • Collaboration with hardware and software teams is essential to integrate sensors into larger systems, ensuring seamless data flow and compatibility.
  • Troubleshooting and optimizing sensor-related issues will be part of the role, using diagnostic tools and signal processing techniques.
  • The engineer will maintain detailed documentation for sensor configurations, calibration processes, and integration protocols.
  • Staying updated on emerging sensor and data fusion technologies is crucial for enhancing system capabilities and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with various sensors (e.g., LIDAR, radar, ultrasonic, IMUs) and understanding of their operating principles and limitations is required.
  • Strong experience in sensor fusion algorithms, including Kalman filtering, sensor alignment, and machine learning applications in data fusion is necessary.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB, with experience in ROS (Robot Operating System) or similar frameworks is essential.
  • Experience in calibrating sensors and conducting field tests to ensure accuracy and reliability in real-world applications is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot sensor issues and optimize system performance through data analysis and signal processing techniques are necessary.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field is required; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in sensor integration, data fusion, or a related field, with a focus on robotics, autonomous systems, or industrial automation is required.
  • Familiarity with data processing libraries (e.g., OpenCV, NumPy) and experience with embedded systems (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson) for real-time applications is a plus.
