Description:

Virta Health is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their Infrastructure team remotely.
The mission of Virta Health is to transform diabetes care and reverse the type 2 diabetes epidemic through technology, personalized nutrition, and virtual care delivery.
The SRE will build the foundation to help the company move quickly while meeting security and compliance requirements.
Key projects include improving metrics strategy, enhancing system observability, simplifying service management, improving incident readiness, engaging with feature development teams, and developing testing infrastructure.
Responsibilities include evangelizing SRE best practices, supporting infrastructure and product teams, developing and maintaining infrastructure automation, leading continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, providing mentorship, collaborating with the InfoSec team, and troubleshooting infrastructure-related issues.
Within the first 90 days, the SRE is expected to teach and inspire team members and lead process improvements related to reliability and observability.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure automation using Kubernetes and the ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers.
Strong experience in developing and managing services using GoLang or Python is required, along with hands-on experience with scripting languages for automation.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform, is necessary, with experience leading technical implementations.
Candidates should have strong knowledge of cloud security and compliance practices, preferably HIPAA and HITRUST, and experience in a regulated environment.
Experience implementing observability for containerized applications and CI/CD principles is required.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential, along with a demonstrated initiative in fostering collaboration and driving projects to completion.

Virta Health offers a competitive compensation range of $145,885 - $188,409 based on qualifications and experience.
