Description:
Float is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to increase the autonomy of the product and engineering teams by enhancing their problem-solving capabilities.
The role involves ensuring engineers have scalable infrastructure for software development, maintaining smooth pipelines from idea to customer, and managing security aspects of the network.
Responsibilities include supporting engineering systems, identifying areas for scaling support, improving service resilience, optimizing monitoring tools, and defining SLO patterns.
Projects will involve building a disaster recovery program, migrating deployment configurations, and expanding infrastructure globally.
The successful candidate will work remotely with a global team, focusing on creating simple solutions for complex problems.
Requirements:
Excellent understanding of Site Reliability Engineering as an enabling team.
Proficiency in Service Level Objectives.
Experience with Terraform, Bash, and a programming language like PHP, NodeJS, or Python.
Knowledge of Kubernetes and GCP is highly valued.
Comfort with asynchronous communication and remote work tools like Slack, Loom, and Linear.
