Description:
Spotify is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Music Technology Platform engineering organization.
The role involves helping labels, artists, and managers while fulfilling the mission of supporting creative artists.
You will work on building a distributed database to create dynamic data visualizations for artists and labels.
The position requires collaboration with engineers to ensure scalable systems design and to address production issues.
Responsibilities include designing deployments, operating a large distributed database, and improving system reliability.
You will assist analytics squads in adopting tools and practices like SLOs, alerting, and observability.
Participation in an on-call rotation and incident analysis for Music Mission systems is expected.
The platform will be managed using Terraform and Kubernetes.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
A background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and database technologies is essential, particularly in cloud-native architectures.
Familiarity with various database technologies on platforms like GCP, AWS, and Azure is necessary; experience with Druid or another OLAP database is a plus.
Proficiency in Java is required, along with skills in Kubernetes and Terraform; knowledge of Python, Scala, Go, or TypeScript is beneficial.
Strong communication skills and the ability to listen empathetically to partners are important.
A deep curiosity and enjoyment in exploring technical and organizational challenges are essential traits.
A willingness to learn new technologies and expand expertise is expected.
