Remote Site Reliability Engineer-Federal

Description:

• Zscaler is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join their Site Reliability Engineering team.
• The position is remote and requires U.S. citizenship due to the nature of the customers assigned to this role.
• The engineer will work with Software Engineering and Infrastructure teams to design, implement, and deploy end-to-end monitoring solutions.
• Responsibilities include managing the deployment of patches, upgrades, and administrative tools/utilities.
• The engineer will monitor applications and services, participate in on-call rotations, and address issues while developing strategies to prevent future incidents.
• Troubleshooting problems, resolving issues, and communicating solutions are also key responsibilities.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2+ years of experience working in 24/7 NOC operations, production cloud platforms, and associated processes and automation workflows is required.
• Candidates must have a working knowledge of Linux/UNIX and related applications.
• Familiarity with a programming language (e.g., Python, Go) and scripting languages (e.g., Bash) is necessary.
• A high-level understanding of networking standard protocols and components such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, ICMP, the OSI Model, Subnetting, and Load Balancing is required.
• Preferred qualifications include a passion for solving technical challenges in running a resilient cloud platform with high Service Level Agreements and a constant drive to improve, optimize, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
