Description:
Zscaler is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join their Site Reliability Engineering team.
The position is remote and requires U.S. citizenship due to the nature of the customers assigned to this role.
The engineer will work with Software Engineering and Infrastructure teams to design, implement, and deploy end-to-end monitoring solutions.
Responsibilities include managing the deployment of patches, upgrades, and administrative tools/utilities.
The engineer will monitor applications and services, participate in on-call rotations, and address issues while developing strategies to prevent future incidents.
Troubleshooting problems, resolving issues, and communicating solutions are also key responsibilities.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2+ years of experience working in 24/7 NOC operations, production cloud platforms, and associated processes and automation workflows is required.
Candidates must have a working knowledge of Linux/UNIX and related applications.
Familiarity with a programming language (e.g., Python, Go) and scripting languages (e.g., Bash) is necessary.
A high-level understanding of networking standard protocols and components such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, ICMP, the OSI Model, Subnetting, and Load Balancing is required.
Preferred qualifications include a passion for solving technical challenges in running a resilient cloud platform with high Service Level Agreements and a constant drive to improve, optimize, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
