Description:

  • Algolia is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer for the Fleet team in Sydney, Australia, to ensure the availability of search products.
  • The Fleet team focuses on creating solutions to optimize the availability and costs of search products at scale.
  • The role involves operating search products, automating responses, and building components to improve reliability and performance.
  • Responsibilities include reducing infrastructure costs, computing SLOs and error budgets, automating processes to reduce toil and technical debt, and managing incidents and customer requests.
  • The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of scalable architectures and strong collaboration skills across teams and time zones.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python, Golang, or Ruby, with familiarity in software craftsmanship; knowledge of Lua is a plus.
  • Experience in building and operating distributed systems is required.
  • Candidates must have experience working with APIs and a focus on designing reliable, operable, and available applications.
  • Familiarity with public cloud providers like GCP, AWS, or Microsoft Azure, and Kubernetes is necessary.
  • A good understanding of Linux system administration, networking, and troubleshooting is essential.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are required.
