Description:
Granicus is a company focused on transforming the Govtech industry by building, implementing, and maintaining technology that connects governments with their constituents.
The Site Reliability Engineer II will use Granicus applications to understand their impact on government and citizen interaction.
This role involves owning escalated issues and problems reported by customers, internal teams, and monitoring systems.
The engineer will independently and collaboratively troubleshoot application, service, and system issues.
Responsibilities include documenting and escalating user stories, bugs, and defects.
The engineer will establish and maintain SLI, SLO, and SLA targets for applications and services.
The position requires using software development best practices to automate solutions and eliminate toil.
The engineer is responsible for preserving the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Granicus information assets and following the company's information security program.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least three years of relevant industry experience.
A minimum of two years of hands-on Azure cloud experience in production support is required.
An agile and lean thinking mindset is essential.
Experience with software engineering best practices applied to data, including automation, testing, contract definition, clean code, and CI/CD, is necessary.
Good experience in infrastructure as code, CI/CD tooling, and configuration tools like Terraform for automation is required.
Candidates should have experience working with monitoring and logging systems such as Elastic, NewRelic, LogicMonitor, Papertrail, and Pingdom.
A pragmatic approach to problem-solving is expected.
Candidates must be comfortable writing code in at least one programming language, preferably with a background in software engineering or DevOps.
A good understanding of object-oriented programming concepts is required.
Hands-on coding experience with Python 3 is necessary.
Exposure to application performance testing tools, preferably Locust, is a plus.
Candidates should be open to learning new tools and technologies on the job.
Leadership acumen is preferred.
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain/maintain a Secret-level security clearance through the U.S. Government, which requires U.S. citizenship, 10 years of U.S. residency status, and passing an in-depth government-sponsored background check.
