Description:

Sinch Mailgun is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their SRE team, responsible for maintaining fast, reliable, and secure systems.
The role involves shaping, scaling, and optimizing the infrastructure that supports Mailgun services.
Responsibilities include collaborating with product engineering teams, automating workflows, and ensuring systems meet high reliability standards.
The position requires designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based microservices infrastructure.
The engineer will automate routine operational tasks and proactively resolve issues using monitoring tools.
Ensuring efficient operation of datastores and contributing to team growth by mentoring junior engineers is also part of the role.
The engineer will plan and execute strategies for scaling systems and infrastructure as needs grow.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a strong background in infrastructure, operations, or software engineering with a focus on reliability.
Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS) is required.
Proficiency in configuration management tools like Terraform and Ansible is necessary.
Hands-on experience with modern monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana is essential.
Proven experience with distributed databases (e.g., Cassandra, Elasticsearch) and maintaining their health at scale is required.
Familiarity with distributed event stores and stream-processing platforms is preferred.
Strong coding skills in at least one modern programming language (Python, Go, etc.) are necessary.
Expertise in running and maintaining production systems in a Linux environment and public cloud infrastructure is required.
Candidates should demonstrate expertise in architecting solutions for complex technical challenges and leading initiatives from conception to execution.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building effective relationships with cross-functional teams.
The ability to mentor and guide junior engineers is important for fostering a collaborative team culture.
